Fidelizer - PerfectDynamics Sound Optimizations 2.0

 

For new users, please read about PerfectDynamics 2.0 Sound Optimizations first for new improvements with Fidelizer ROMs.

 

It’s been a while since last DX220 ROM release. This time they added some compatibility improvements with AMP9, DSD512 and some others. Hopefully it will help on DX150/DX200 port I’m going to bake later too. For Enhanced / Advanced ROM, I kept Google Chrome for web app now. 🙂

 

-Based on iBasso DX220 firmware version V1.13.202
–Yalp Store is added as Play Store’s alternative (I still keep Google services for those who want to install Play Store through other means)
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included
-MangoPlayer app has optimizations applied
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-Audio engine optimized for only audio playback (EQ/Gaplass features work)

Installation Guide

1. Install Rockchip USB driver included in AndroidTool and make sure it shows ‘Found One ADB device’ in AndroidTool software
2. Extract Official Oreo ROM firmware from iBasso to device’s storage and flash from Settings > System > Updater > Local storage
3. After successfully flashing official ROM, go to Settings > System > About tablet and tap “Build number” for 7 times to enable “Developer options”
4. Tap back arrow to enter “Developer options”, enable “USB debugging”, and press OK
5. Connect DX220 to computer with USB connection in Android mode again and press OK to allow USB debugging
6. Download Disable Verity package and run disable_verity.bat file (You may need to authorize USB debugging and run disable verity again if not reboot)
7. After DX220 boots up properly with Verity disabled, turn off device and connect with USB connection to computer while holding play button
8. Open AndroidTool, click on “Upgrade Firmware” tab, click on Firmware button and select update.img extracted from Purist ROM then click Upgrade

Hi guys. Fidelizer Purist ROM update for iBasso DX120 ROM version 2.9.121 is out now. It’s a bit confusing to choose between 2.9.121 and 2.9.122 release but they both are actually the same ROM so I believe official version is 2.9.121 one. 🙂

-Based on firmware version 2.9.121
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-Audio engine optimized for only audio playback (EQ/Gaplass features work)

Installation Guide

1. Download iBasso FactoryTool with English UI
2. Turn off DX120
3. Connect DX120 with USB connection to computer while holding vol up button
4. Install Rockchip USB driver included in FactoryTool
5. Open FactoryTool.exe and flash ROM according to instructions provided in DX200 batch tool instruction.doc

If you like improvements in Purist ROM, you may upgrade to Enhanced / Advanced ROM for even better sound. Please read Portable Products for more details and you can also upgrade DX120 hardware with Fidelizer Mod project too. 🙂

Fidelizer cures digital glare effect bringing digital audio closer to real sound performance. I’m glad to hear it works better with recording using analogue tape as master. 🙂

Thank’s a lot for the refund. I have installed the two software (Control and Audio PC) with the settings you advised to me (on advanced settings i checked “lower non audio process more aggressively”)

The result surprises me. Sound is really better ! Much more details, precision and dynamics…Thank you for all.

I asked Marcin (JPLAY) he advised me to keep Hibernate mode with FIDELIZER. Really Femto + UPPLAY + FIDELIZER is very efficient for computered music on PC.

For JPLAY Dual PC setup, I recommend Fidelizer Pro with “Streamer” audio profile on Control PC and “Network Player” audio profile on Audio PC and happy listening. 🙂
