After releasing DX120 FW 2.4, I received reports about failure in flashing and did some intensive investigation about this issue for almost a month now. The problem is new mapping after 2.2 firmwre has issues with recovery flashing.
I tried fix the issue and improve Purist ROM to be more compatible with recovery menu (without error report) but it seems to be impossible. As you notice there’s no longer system update function in Mango OS anymore, flashing from recovery will cause bootloop.
I also tried flashing stock ROM after bootloop triggered but that didn’t fix it if you flash from recovery. The only way to completely fix this problem is to use FactoryTool from DX200 to flash original image again in order to boot properly.
I did some investigation and it appeared that flashing bootloader firmware in recovery is what triggered bootloop and you will also need to flash this file in order to make recovery flashing done without reporting error which is impossible to do even with stock ROM.
So, I updated DX120 flashing instructions to use PC with FactoryTool flashing method from now on. Please flash stock ROM with FactoryTool first to avoid bootloop problems and flash Purist ROM again and your DX120 should work fine with Purist ROM. 🙂
