Fidelizer on Windows 10 v1703 (Creators Update) Update Report

Hello everyone. It’s me Keetakawee from Fidelizer. I’m currently visiting my parents right now and will be go back after Thailand’s Songkran festival. I also brought my laptop with Fidelizer to delivery so I’m good.

Since Microsoft started shipping out Windows 10 Creators Update recently, I decided to apply Windows 10 Creators Update from Windows Update notification. It didn’t go well for the first time having Windows Explorer gone. This has nothing to do with Fidelizer so don’t worry about it.

After looking around for a while, I found the culprit which is UxStyle software I installed for custom themes interfered it. Removing this solved the case and Windows 10 is working fine now. Reinstalling UxStyle after Creators Update is OK too.

I didn’t notice sound quality getting worse like Windows 10 v1607 update report. I immediately noticed more openness and clarity on high frequency right away. Midrange is smoother with more linear sounding closer to v1511 update. After applying Fidelizer, it sounds great and works like before.

However, I noticed something getting worse too like dynamics of sound is slightly less solid than before. Bass isn’t deep or give strong attack on notes as much as before.  You could say this is still better for overall improvements unlike previous v1607 that was devastating without Fidelizer.

Here’s my ranking for sound quality on Windows 10 so far. I made sure to apply Windows 10 Creators Update on 3 machines to test.

Windows 10 Threshold (v1067) > Windows 10 Threshold 2 (v1511) > Windows 10 Creators Update (v1703) > Windows 10 Anniversary Edition (v1607)

Nimitra will continue to use Windows 10 Threshold 2 (v1511) as before. Why not v1067 which is ranked first? Because it could be my preference for better sounding by small margin and v1511 is more stable for production release.

Fidelizer on Windows 10 v1607 (Anniversary Edition) Update Report

Hi guys. It’s me again. I’m going to visit Hong Kong AV Show 2016 tomorrow. Before the day of departure, I noticed start menu on my desktop’s PC looks slightly different. So I checked the news and found Windows 10 AE ships out now.

As usual, I’m going to test Fidelizer on newly updated Windows 10 platform and give my report about sound performance and system’s stability. So far system looks pretty stable and slightly smoother than before. There’s no audio glitch with optimized audio playback configuration with or without Fidelizer. But it’s just from my hardware alone so please let me know if you find something unusual on your system.

I also recommend to re-apply Fidelizer Pro installation after update IMMEDIATELY because it shocked me so bad how terrible the sound was after updating. My friend who listened to music few hrs ago could immediately tell it got worse with more sterile sound. I re-applied Fidelizer Pro optimizations and it’s all good again now.

Fidelizer Music Server Project Announcement

After successful update of Fidelizer 7 software transition with a lot of good feedback, we would to inform you our dear users that we’re building an affordable music server platform based on customized Windows 10/JPLAY/Fidelizer platform. It’s going to be the best streaming experience with plug and play support under three-digit budget price. Expect more updates soon.

Oh…..I didn’t meant to choose this day as an April Fools’ joke. It’s just a pure coincidence, really. 🙂

Windows 10 v1511 (Threshold 2) Update Report

I noticed this update from my recently bought Lenovo tablet just before going to a trip with my dad. Now I’m back and it’s about time to test this major update for Windows 10. I noticed some new icons and over all it’s more stable than before.

As for sound quality, I notice the improvements significantly. It has better dynamics and more fluid than before. Windows 10 sounds clearly better than Windows 8.1 and this update takes a few steps higher than before, especially with Fidelizer Pro.

If you’re running Windows 10 right now, I suggest you to update to v1511 immediately. And happy listening. 🙂

UPDATE: On downside note, audio latency is increased. I used to get stable playback at 3ms with Hiface Two but now it’s creased to 4ms. Older Windows 10 gives more solid sound thanks to lower latency performance. However, it still gives better transparency and separation.

Fidelizer on Windows 10 Report

As some people have asked me before about Fidelizer’s compatibility with Windows 10. I’d like to inform the result after using Windows 10 for a week.

1. Sound quality from Windows 10 is better than Windows 7/8/8.1.
2. All functions of Fidelizer are working fine on Windows 10.
3. Fidelizer is becoming more effective in Windows 10 thanks to improved MMCSS as system driver.
4. Licensed software works fine after changing operating system.

If you’re using computer as dedicated audio source and can upgrade to Windows 10, I suggest you to do it now for better sound quality. If you’re also using computer to work too, you may wait until you’re sure that upgrading to Windows 10 won’t affect your work.
