I’ve been trying to update PerfectDynamics 2.0 update on iBasso DX50/80/90 for a long while. Whenever I tried to start updating one, new ROMs and updates keep coming out. So after porting iBasso DX220 ROM to DX200 device, I decided to finish this update.

There’s still iBasso DX100 left which I will need to test with actual device (like I did on this update). iBasso DX150 will also receive DX220 ROM port soon too so stay tuned. 🙂

If you still use good old iBasso DX50/80/90, you can check out Fidelizer Purist ROM first and see. If you’d like to upgrade with PerfectDynamics Sound Optimizations in Enhanced / Advanced ROM, there’ll be a lot of improvements that won’t disappoint those who can appreciate Purist ROM. 🙂

After launching an update with new MangoPlayer app from iBasso DX220, some who use 3rd-party apps told me they want DX220 ROM port if possible so I decided to port the whole ROM instead. Mango OS is still DX200 version because DX200’s display isn’t compatible.

-Based on iBasso DX220 firmware version Oreo 8.1 V1.09.092
Yalp Store is added as Play Store’s alternative (I still keep Google services for those who want to install Play Store through other means)
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included
-Revamped MangoPlayer UI with improved user experience
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-Audio engine optimized for only audio playback (EQ/Gaplass features work)

Hi. I’m sorry it took a while. I need to work on something in real life so the update took longer than expected. I still need to use workaround to modify boot.img properly and tested all versions to make sure it will work fine too. 🙂

Updating Purist ROM links lineup and fix DX120 flashing instructions

After releasing DX120 FW 2.4, I received reports about failure in flashing and did some intensive investigation about this issue for almost a month now. The problem is new mapping after 2.2 firmwre has issues with recovery flashing.

I tried fix the issue and improve Purist ROM to be more compatible with recovery menu (without error report) but it seems to be impossible. As you notice there’s no longer system update function in Mango OS anymore, flashing from recovery will cause bootloop.

I also tried flashing stock ROM after bootloop triggered but that didn’t fix it if you flash from recovery. The only way to completely fix this problem is to use FactoryTool from DX200 to flash original image again in order to boot properly.

I did some investigation and it appeared that flashing bootloader firmware in recovery is what triggered bootloop and you will also need to flash this file in order to make recovery flashing done without reporting error which is impossible to do even with stock ROM.

So, I updated DX120 flashing instructions to use PC with FactoryTool flashing method from now on. Please flash stock ROM with FactoryTool first to avoid bootloop problems and flash Purist ROM again and your DX120 should work fine with Purist ROM. 🙂
