Fidelizer review on Enjoy the Music

Enjoy the music is one of the longest audiophile media with over 20 years of experience in sharing audiophile experience. Last year I received a kind offer from Greg Weaver about reviewing Fidelizer software but there was a lot going on on his side since last year so the review was delayed until recently that he finally had time to finish reviewing Fidelizer Pro.

First, spatial attributes are elevated to near analog quality. The more compressed, flattened, cardboard cut-out, two-dimensionality that I find to be one of the biggest detriments to most computer based music playback systems is elevated to dramatically new levels, bordering, as I have mentioned, on what one is treated to from good LP playback. Stage width, height, and particularly depth, are increased dramatically, in realistic, not cartoonish, manner.

Resolution, transparency, and fine detail, including microdynamic shadings, are similarly heightened, to a degree greater than I’ve seen by the implementation of good after-market power cords and the best USB cables (both of which, you should be using, by the way). Hearing into and through full scale orchestral works is near revelatory using Fidelizer Pro. I believe that much of this is accomplished by its ability to significantly reduce electronic noise, a “glare” and “grunge,” that is also common with many computer playback systems.

Something that came as an unexpected and extremely welcomed improvement, were attributes often characterized by the acronym, PRaT (Pace, Rhythm, and Timing). Driving bass lines or propulsive drum work is conveyed with more urgency and authority, demanding your attention and propelling the composition more forcefully and convincingly.

Finally, and as welcomed to this listener as the spatial improvements, come pronounced enhancements in tone color, texture, and timbre. Fundamental pitch and tonal color are more faithful, imbued with wholesale clarification and refinement, both sounding more vibrant and reconstructed with richer, fuller tone. Texture is more clearly rendered, as is instrumental bloom, which is more apparent and believable. Instrumental voices are presented in more authentic size, texture, and especially pitch. Musical tapestries seemed to be not only more natural and convincing sounding, but pitch was also noticeably more stable.

This is the first Fidelizer 7 review since published. To be more precise, this is a review with both Fidelizer 6 and Fidelizer 7 impressions combined so I’m interested to hear his impressions on this side too.

Fidelizer Pro v7 Windows Software Optimization for Music Playback made effective and simple. Review By Greg Weaver

Fidelizer’s false positive report case with Kaspersky

Today I received a few emails from Fidelizer users about getting report from Kaspersky. I’d like to inform everyone that Fidelizer is safe and secured audio software. It has features to control process’ priority and affity with services management features so some antivirus may detect such behavior being unsafe. However, there’s nothing to be afraid about the procedures as you can safely reverse it and Fidelizer hasn’t harmed anyone’s PC so far in last year.

You can keep using Fidelizer with Kaspersky by adding Fidelizer applications into Kaskersky’s exclusion list. I also filed false positive report to Kaspersky’s Virusdesk and I recommend you to do the same too to avoid such issue in future.

UPDATE: Kaspersky informed me they’ll fix this false detection in next update. 🙂

Fidelizer 7.0 released – Brand new start for real audiophile products

Fidelizer started as a geek software written with personal passion to improve audio performance in Windows. It was really like from geek to geek product that most people would find it hard to use. Although I tried to make it much easier to use since version 6, it still wasn’t easy to use for end user.

So, version 7 will be a brand new start to refresh the focus of Fidelizer, a product designed for audiophiles. There’s a lot of changes in user experience along with audio improvements you’ll never see before as I already promised below.

1. Better user experience – Much easier to use with Optimization Wizard that shows only main features selection with description and UX is professionally done with own materials and design.
2. Improve audio optimizations – Audio optimizations will be revised and improved to suit modern needs better with improved optimizations like Hyper-Threading support for an example.
3. Machine Configuration upgrade – Machine Configuration will be revamped again. Free will have default option, Plus will have 3 options and Pro will have 7 options.
4. Improve Windows 10 services management – Fidelizer will shutdown more Windows 10’s specific services for lower footprints.
5. User experience unified – In past, Pro version handles services in Extremist differently so it’s hard to maintain the usability. Now all 3 versions will follow the same design principles.

There’s some parts in free version I’d like to explain here. Because I received a few reports of the following cases in free version as below:

1. Degraded sound quality in YouTube, Tidal and NAS – They don’t realize that they should select Network Streaming optimization level.
2. Network connection not working after using Fidelizer – I already set keep network services selected by default but some people unchecked it not knowing they’ll lose network connection.

As a result, I decided to revise free version to have default option that works good on both local/network storage and removed stopping network services to avoid future user error cases. I hope you’ll like this major upgrade of Fidelizer.

Fidelizer review on HIFISTATEMENT

HIFISTATEMENT is one of fast growing net magazine in Germany. A lot of new generation products are being reviewed by them. It took a few months until Fidelizer review is up and I’m glad to finally see it live.

This is the first non-English review so forgive me if I misread some parts with Google Translate. I love how they started the review with conflicts between ‘bits are bits’ and ‘digital imperfection’. Digital is, after all, signal pulse electricity running on timing reference. And devices was made with different understands for different results.

I recommend you to read the whole review since he made a good explanation about how digital audio works in computer. I’ll post the translation of listening impressions here below.

Since my audio PC already running in hibernate mode, in which a plurality of processes is stopped, I could not imagine further improvements Fidelizer really. The width and depth of the spatial representation then also changes expected rather little. But the change in tone is unmistakable. Instruments gaining heat and physicality. Everything sounds more relaxed, but not weichgespült. This is accompanied by a clear increase of transparency and clarity. In the famous concerto for guitar and orchestra, the “Concierto de Aranjuez” by Joaquín Rodrigo, opening up in the recording with Pepe Romero and the Orchestra Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, conducted by Neville Marriner (Joaquin Rodrigo: Complete Concertos for Guitar and Harp – Philips Classics) new insights. In the first movement, with its powerful rhythms, it is the hard struck strings of the solo instrument, which are not blurred, but reproduced crystal clear. In contrast, heard in the slow second movement of thoughtful dialogue between the guitar and the English horn beautifully round and empathy. In “Intermezzo from Goyescas” by Enrique Granados with the New Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Rafael Frübeck of Burgos (Decca Legacy Volume One – FIM UHD) display the strings a previously belonged radiance and give the piece in their simultaneous unity an intensity gets under the skin.I have since Fidelizer not back away from my PC!

After reading a few reviews, I realized how Fidelizer UI can be confusing for first time user and I plan to resolve this issue in Fidelizer 7 along with other optimizations.

Fidelizer Upgrade Program – 1000th last purchase offer

Fidelizer Upgrade Program - 1000th Purchase Offer

I can’t tell you how happy I am to see this day. We finally reached 1000th milestone. This number means a lot to set the history of computer audiophile.

Fidelizer Plus: US $39.95 —> $30.0 (Expired)
Fidelizer Pro: US $69.95 —> $55.0 (Expired)

This offer will last until Until 7th February 2016. I stated in title that this will be the last purchase offer we’ll make. Back then purchase offer was made after every 2-3 months so it doesn’t affect normal customers that much. Lately the offer was made too frequently like every month making me feel like it’s getting unfair for normal customers.

I hope this will be good chance for you to consider upgrading Fidelizer. I’ll think about offer for dual PC setup later after this campaign is over. I’m really appreciated in everyone’s support for 1000th license.
