Added DX200 with Fidelizer Ultimate Mod in Portable Products

DX200 - Fidelizer Ultimate Mod

After launching Portable Products section for a while, I received some inquiries about DX200 Fidelizer Mod. However, all customers who committed to DX200 Fidelizer Mod ended up ordering whole DX200 unit with Ultimate mod instead.

So I added DX200 Ultimate Mod option for audiophiles who want to pursue the ultimate sound quality improvement. It comes with the following features:

-Fidelizer Advanced ROM
-Over 30 of capacitors upgraded with highest grade of tantalum capacitor
-Clock modules are upgraded high quality ones from Japan for processor and XMOS interface
-Re-designed op-amp implementation in AMP module with completely different set of 6 opamps
-Soft-mute circuit by-pass for purist signal transmission in AMP module
-Power capacitor in AMP module upgraded from 2x470uF to 1,000uF capacitor
-Some tweaks for power supply and internal damping in main unit

Price: 1,800 USD

This is truly my masterpiece for DAP modification. It’s the only DAP that can bring true desktop contender performance.

The reason why I received only DX200 Ultimate mod instead of AMP1 is probably from massive sound quality improvement and recommendation to friends. I’m also having another two DX200 units waiting to apply Fidelizer Ultimate Mod too right now.

I also have other DAPs like AK380, HM901S and Plenue waiting for modification too so if you’re interested in modding your DAP, feel free to drop me a message and happy listening. 🙂

Fidelizer Purist ROM featured in Positive Feedback’s Fiio X5iii review by Tom Gibbs

Last month, I talked to Mr. Tom Gibbs about his new home and listening environment. He mentioned about reviewing Fiio X5iii so I sent him my Purist ROM that I was working on at that time for him to try hoping he’ll enjoy the music while preparing a new room.

Today he sent me his finished review about X5iii and he also talked about how Fidelizer came to the rescue as below.

Fidelizer to the rescue!!

I let the X5 burn in for a while by playing on repeat for a couple of days before doing any serious listening; I honestly believe the sound quality of both the X5 and the accompanying F5 headphones improved significantly with about 50-100 hours of play time. I also did a couple of firmware updates to the system; at this point, I started to feel as though something had gone quite wrong with the overall sound quality of the system. In an email exchange with Keetakawee Punpeng of Fidelizer, we were talking about how things were going for me in my new home and new listening environment, and I happened to mention that I had the X5 Gen III in house and under review. He immediately emailed me a link to a firmware modification he developed in cooperation with Fiio; apparently, many had complained about the sound quality of the F5 after performing updates. He started checking all this out, and found that an earlier iteration of the F5 Gen III sounded significantly better prior to all the updates. He then developed an installer program with his contacts at Fiio that would update the operational aspects of the upgrade, but would also roll the pertinent aspects of the sound quality back to the best iteration.

The install was just a tad tricky (not unlike most anything with any of the DAPs I’ve had recent experience with), but I have to admit: the great sound was once again back! Now, when the X5 opens for the first time, a Fidelizer splash screen appears prior to the usual Android stuff. What a really strange coincidence, how this all worked out, and my hat is off to Keetakawee and Fidelizer for helping fix what should have never been monkeyed with in the first place! He also tells me that he can make additional modifications to the X5 Gen III that will lift it into the same level of performance as some AK units; you can get more information about those services HERE.

It’s great to know how $399.95 DAP packed with all kinds of features can do from a professional reviewer. You can read his full review to see how it truly is the best bang of the buck especially with Fidelizer ROM.

Fiio X5iii is the DAP with most potentials for improvements in my opinion. As I already explained in Portable Products section, Fiio X5iii Ultimate mod version costs only $899.95 with very close performance to flagship devices out there. 🙂

Some people asked for Apollo app in Fidelizer ROM so here it is.

I shared my mods of Apollo app XDA forum with the following changes:

-Compiled with Linaro 4.7 Toolchain with Fidelity Edition flags optimization (-O3/Strict-aliasing/etc.)
-Raised the handler thread priority level to high priority audio level. Normally it was set to background level but if you want to turn this to music phone, that level of priority won’t make sure you’ll get good music without being interrupted.
-Increase performance on caching system. It may consume little more space but should improving disk caching performance significantly. I decreased load factor from 0.75 to 0.5 so it shouldn’t consume much more space like 0.25 (Or maybe I should)
-Reduced buffer size and output latency in disk caching. This should some what improve performance for low latency audio playback.

Fidelizer feedback around Japan

Hello everyone. I started to receive orders from Japan more frequently since last month so I did some search about Fidelizer in Japan and found these.

Windows 10におけるFidelizer Proを再評価

These are pages I found in Japan since last few months. Thank you so much for sharing Fidelizer’s feedback. I hope Fidelizer will become more useful products to audiophiles in Japan in years to come. 🙂

Head-Fi, why do you hate Fidelizer so much?

Today I searched about Fidelizer in google for daily update and found someone in Head-Fi mentioning Fidelizer here.

So I clicked on it to see what they’re talking about FIdelizer ROMs and I found very big pictures with no context instead.

It made no sense to me so I asked my Head-Fi friends if anyone can see it. One guy told me he saw it briefly. He told me that member shared a link to Fidelizer website and he also saw someone quoting his message too for discussion about Fidelizer ROM.

After few seconds, only few seconds as he refresh the topic for updates, those posts are replaced with very big pictures instead. He suspected Head-Fi may have algorithm to detect Fidelizer keyword and domain to automatically filter with different content.

Back in March, I started cooking ROMs trying to fix slowdown issues, glitches, and add Play Store support with some optimizations to improve DX200 and X5iii. Such a great contribution to your community and I’m sure everyone loves it.

Why Head-Fi? Why do you hate Fidelizer so much? I’m just a one man developer who do projects for fun and share what’s good to community. I have no marketing guy or any hype building members anywhere. They’re all genuine content from members.
