Fiio X7 Purist ROM version 3.3.6 released with Fiio Music updated

Fidelizer - PerfectDynamics Sound Optimizations 2.0

 

At last, the last device but not least of Fiio X series has new Purist ROM updated. I also recommend to flash official ROM version 3.3.6 before flashing Purist ROM too. Some people also asked me for M series version but I don’t have devices yet. If you want to test, please let me know.

 

-Based on firmware version 3.3.6
-Fiio Music app version 1.0.8.013003 updated with Fidelizer optimizations
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-bundled audio effects removed but keep main engine (Poweramp works now)

Installation Guide

1. Download X7 Firmware Upgrade Tool
2. Turn off Fiio X7
3. Connect X7 with USB connection to computer while holding previous track button
4. Install RK USB driver included in Firmware Upgrade Tool and replace update.img image with Fidelizer Purist ROM version
5. Open X7 Firmware Upgrade Tool.exe and press the green button in middle right flash the ROM

For Mac / Linux users, please check this guide for flashing Fidelizer Purist ROM on Mac / Linux instructions.

 

There’s a lot of improvements for Advanced ROM and I also added Enhanced ROM into collection too. Please read Portable Products for more details including Fidelizer Mod project with 3 modification levels. Happy listening. 🙂

After releasing Fiio X7ii ROM on another day, it appeared JP release has partition mapping changed again and it’s been corrected and working fine now. So today I can finish Fiio X5iii ROM without worries and here it is. The latest Purist ROM for most popular device finally here. Enjoy. 🙂

2. Turn off Fiio X5iii
3. Connect X5iii with USB connection to computer while holding previous track button

5. Open X5III Firmware Upgrade Tool.exe and flash ROM according to instructions provided in Instructions of How to Use the X5 3rd gen Firwmare Upgrade Tool.pdf

After releasing Purist ROM for Fiio X7ii version 1.0.8 JP, I received reports about Purist ROM not working from version 1.0.8 JP but it worked on 1.0.7 JP. So I asked one of my client to dump 1.0.8 JP ROM and found partition alignment was changed again so here’s corrected one.

 

-Based on firmware version 1.0.8 JP
-Fiio Music app version 1.0.8.013003 updated with Fidelizer optimizations
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included

Fidelizer - PerfectDynamics Sound Optimizations 2.0

 

Hi everyone. It’s been a about a week after Fiio releasing major ROM update on X5iii/X7/X7ii devices. I spent last few days finalizing and optimizing X7ii ROM first because it has separated Japan release and there’s issues with Fiio Music app having new update pushed thereafter too.

Now the work is done. I also included new Fiio Music app update with optimizations I usually apply on Advanced ROM. it wouldn’t hurt to include optimized music app for Purist ROM users. New UI looks really good and smoother with optimizations applied.

This time I’m releasing both global ROM (1.0.7) and Japan ROM (1.0.8 JP) together. I recommend to flash official ROM first before flashing Purist ROM version to get the same partition alignment. Cross flashing will make device unbootable and may corrupt its data.

Fidelizer - PerfectDynamics Sound Optimizations 2.0

 

For new users, please read about PerfectDynamics 2.0 Sound Optimizations first for new improvements with Fidelizer ROMs.

 

After releasing DX150 Oreo ROM update in previous post, I started working on DX200 ROM update right after. It seems boot image in DX200 had some stability issues with modification so it took a while to fix it. Please always flash official version before Purist one.

 

-Based on firmware version Oreo 8.1 V1.05.036
–Yalp Store is added as Play Store’s alternative (I still keep Google services for those who want to install Play Store through other means)
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included
-Revamped MangoPlayer UI with improved user experience
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-Audio engine optimized for only audio playback (EQ/Gaplass features work)

Installation Guide

1. Turn off DX200
2. Connect DX200 with USB connection to computer while holding play button switch
3. Install Rockchip USB driver included in update tool
4. Flash Official Oreo ROM firmware from iBasso with instructions provided
5. After successfully flashing official ROM, go to Settings > System > About tablet and tap “Build number” for 7 times to enable “Developer options”
6. Tap back arrow to enter “Developer options”, enable “USB debugging”, and press OK
7. Connect DX200 to computer with USB connection in Android mode again and press OK to allow USB debugging
8. Download Disable Verity package and run disable_verity.bat file
9. After DX200 boots up properly with Verity disabled, you can flash Purist ROM with AndroidTool again
