Nikola Linear Power Supply receives AudioStream’s Greatest Bits Award

Today AudioStream has published a review for Nikola Linear Power Supply for a few days now. I’m very proud to inform you guys how Nikola performs  along with other linear power supplies and products.

Linear power supply business is all about power house unit to power all kinds of devices for a long while. I aimed to build Nikola linear power supply as a game changer product from ‘jack of all trades’ to ‘master of one’ design. It’s time to move on inferior design that does all for better sound.

Nikola was reviewed thoroughly with a few devices as it was designed to work with all kinds of unit supporting power supply upgrade. It’s hard to pick which one so I’ll pick on the most beneficial part for you to read below.

Since I was reviewing the SOtM sMS-200 Mini Network Player at the same time I was evaluating the Nikola, I decided to try this combination given that the 12 volt output was within spec for use with the sMS-200. After extended listening with the SOtM sMS-200 / Nikola, I felt that many of the sMS-200 owners will love this combination. The overall sound was smooth, detailed, and free of hardness. The bass and mid bass were extremely well controlled with good dynamic qualities. The soundstage was quite large with good depth and width. The overall transient speed and pitch definition were very impressive. Voices and instruments were very well focused and had a life-like presence with wonderful transparency to the sound. And yes, background silence was perceived as being excellent.

You can read full Fidelizer Nikola Linear Power Supply review about Nikola in other aspects like how it performs comparing to other products, how it works with Nimitra and its unique charm of very low noise colorization without ever displaying a digital edge.

At first I started designing Nikola as power supply for Nimitra but I later realized that I should build good power supply upgrade for product that needs it. I don’t mind if you want to use Nikola with Brooklyn/e32 DAC, SMS-200, or LPS-1 as long as I can help your music enjoyment. 🙂

exaSound e32 DAC review with Nikola PSU in AudioStream

Some of Nimitra customers may have heard or even ordered pre-production units before. While I was preparing Nikola linear power supply product page today, Mr. Steven Plaskin kindly informed me about his recent exaSound e32 DAC review with Nikola linear power supply.

As this is the review of another product, it may not give much of insights yet. This is quoted from review about Nikola linear power supply.

I did hear a small improvement in the sound with the HDPlex powering the e32 compared to the stock power supply, but the Fidelizer power supply transported the sound quality to another level. The soundstage became larger with better focus of instruments and voices. I also heard better resolution of transient detail from the e32 when powered by the Fidelizer Nikola LPS. Background silence seemed enhanced with the Nikola.

Nikola linear power supply is in assembling right now and should be available to order in next week. Stay tuned.

Nimitra Computer Audio Server receives AudioStream’s Greatest Bits Award

Today AudioStream has published a review for Nimitra Computer Audio Server, the first physical hardware product from Fidelizer. I’m very excited in this month because there’s a few reviews about Nimitra rolling out in this month.

The first ones in this month was written Mr. Steven Plaskin, Fidelizer supporter since early days. He kindly accepted my review request about Nimitra despite being so busy for months. It took a while but he eventually published Nimitra review in good timing before X’Mas.

There’s a bit of pieces about sound impressions from Nimitra here and there in his review so I recommend to read Fidelizer Nimitra Computer Audio Server review as whole article with good music. Here’s one of interesting parts he mentioned about Nimitra’s sound quality.

Nimitra used my MSB Technology USB ASIO driver for full support of PCM files up to 24/384kHz and DSD256. Function was flawless and the sound was excellent. Nimitra just sounded smooth and rich with the Analog DAC. I felt the overall sound was easy to listen to for extended periods and was most definitely superior to what I could achieve with an unmodified OS PC or Mac. Overall detail and focus were first-rate with the Nimitra. In some ways, the Nimitra reminded me of the Playback Designs Syrah Server in terms of its excellent playback qualities.

In my surprise, this review comes with unexpected bonus. Nimitra receives AudioStream’s Greatest Bits award. It’s the first award I received for Nimitra product. Receiving award means a lot to infamous product owner like me. It could be one of my best X’Mas present since founding Fidelizer. 🙂
