Hi. Now I’ve finished rolling out all new firmware updates for Fiio X series so it’s time to update iBasso DX120 Purist ROM with new firmware release. 🙂

-Based on firmware version 2.6.94
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-Audio engine optimized for only audio playback (EQ/Gaplass features work)

Installation Guide

1. Download iBasso FactoryTool with English UI
2. Turn off DX120
3. Connect DX120 with USB connection to computer while holding vol up button
4. Install Rockchip USB driver included in FactoryTool
5. Open FactoryTool.exe and flash ROM according to instructions provided in DX200 batch tool instruction.doc

 

If you like improvements in Purist ROM, you may upgrade to Enhanced / Advanced ROM for even better sound. Please read Portable Products for more details and you can also upgrade DX120 hardware with Fidelizer Mod project too. 🙂

Hi. Sorry it took a while. There were issues on previous X7 ROM so I needed to fix that first and restarted X5iii ROM updates to make sure it’ll be fine. 🙂

 

-Based on firmware version 1.2.5
-Fiio Music app updated with Fidelizer optimizations
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-bundled audio effects removed but keep main engine (Poweramp works now)

Installation Guide

1. Download X5iii Firmware Upgrade Tool
2. Turn off Fiio X5iii
3. Connect X5iii with USB connection to computer while holding previous track button
4. Install RK USB driver included in Firmware Upgrade Tool and replace update.img image with Fidelizer Purist ROM version
5. Open X5III Firmware Upgrade Tool.exe and flash ROM according to instructions provided in Instructions of How to Use the X5 3rd gen Firwmare Upgrade Tool.pdf

 

For Mac / Linux users, please check this guide for flashing Fidelizer Purist ROM on Mac / Linux instructions.

 

There’s a lot of improvements for Advanced ROM and I also added Enhanced ROM into collection too. Please read Portable Products for more details including Fidelizer Mod project with 3 modification levels. Happy listening. 🙂

Hi. It seems I have files from other devices mixed in during creating X7 ROM images. My apologies. I rebuilt again from scratch and verify it’s built from the right one this time.

 

-Based on firmware version 3.3.9
-Fiio Music app updated with Fidelizer optimizations
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-bundled audio effects removed but keep main engine (Poweramp works now)

After finishing Fiio X7ii ROM updates including Japan version without any issue, here’s new ROM update for Fiio X7 device. 🙂

Fidelizer - PerfectDynamics Sound Optimizations 2.0

 

Here’s another feedback today from customer who purchased Advanced ROM for DX200. He shared his feedback after listening with Advanced ROM for a few days.

Hello again,

I did the switch ROMs test. 🙂 You are right, the advanced ROM is better!! I overall sound is more clear! I listened to a few songs in basic version and switched back to advanced. The difference was audible. I cannot understand why I was so disappointed in the first place.

The only I can think of is sound stage. I was impressed with basic’s sound stage. In advanced ROM I think it narrows the depth. Better Depth I hear with filter 5, My favorite. I also use no 2 No 7 is too stiff for My ears. Surely you have done a very good job Keetakawee!

Some improvements may sound subtle at first but after you listen to new improvements for a while, it’d be easier to notice the absent of new improvements. 🙂
