Hi. Yesterday I received a message from DX160 2020 version user that he flashed DX220Port that I have yet to updated with latest kernel and caused screen display problems. Fortunately, we managed to resolve this issue without causing permanent hardware damage.
However, this also made me realized that making unofficial version like DX220Port can cause some issues to free users who can download and use it without consulting with me first. For paid users, they’ll need to request an update from me and I can verify before delivering.
Back then I planned to update kernel after DX150 version update released but iBasso ended up updating only DX160/DX200 instead. I’ve been very busy with other projects since last two months so I didn’t have time to update and eventually forgot to do so sorry about that.
After thinking for whole night, I decided to removed DX220Port from free version so only Enhanced/Advanced ROM users can access to DX220Port version. I know I could have resolved it better with prompt version update but making DX220Port update often needs time to finalize first.
There’s a lot going on since last two months with the case of illegal distribution of Advanced ROM so it’s better to keep free version with official version only to avoid the risks of potential permanent damage if similar cases were to happen in future.
It also saddens me to make this decision but this is for the safety future of DX220Port and DX220MaxPort. I’ve updated DX220Port for DX160 / DX200 devices with latest kernel now so you may request for stable working DX220Port version. 🙂
