Fidelizer 8.8 released – Improved compatibility with Windows 11 Insider Preview and MinorityClean

Hi guys. It’s been a long while since last 8.7 release. I’ve been busy with Nimitra firmware 4.0 update so the update of version 8.8 was postponed for a while due to testing and changes to make on Nimitra’s project.

On the bright side, we have Windows 11 coming and so I can take opportunities to explore changes in Windows 11 and improve Fidelizer to support changes on Windows 11 better.

Another good news is Mr. Hiroyuki Yokota is finally back and released a new update of MinorityClean. I’ve been observing his projects for a while and realized I haven’t put MinorityClean app to be recognized as audio app yet. Now it’s fixed.

The latest official Windows 11 Insider Preview release in website is version 22000.132 so Fidelizer 8.8 was tested on Windows 11 version 22000.132 before release with great results. 🙂

Sorry it took a while after initial release. I was busy with other projects during lockdown and it caused a lot of inconvenient. Now new ROM for iBasso DX220 is ready with Purist ROM. 🙂

 

-Based on iBasso DX220 firmware version V1.19.294
-PerfectDynamics 3.0 Sound Optimizations applied

Installation Guide

1. Install Rockchip USB driver included in iBasso DX220Max Upgrade Tool and make sure it shows ‘Found One ADB device’ in AndroidTool software
2. Extract OTA ROM from Official Oreo ROM firmware to DX220’s internal storage and flash from Settings > System > Updater > Local storage
3. After successfully flashing official ROM, go to Settings > System > About tablet and tap “Build number” for 7 times to enable “Developer options”
4. Tap back arrow to enter “Developer options”, enable “USB debugging”, and press OK
5. Connect DX220 to computer with USB connection in Android mode again and press OK to allow USB debugging
6. Download Disable Verity package and run disable_verity.bat file to disable verity and restart (Authorize USB debugging on device and run again)
7. After DX220 boots up properly with Verity disabled, run reset_loader.bat file so you can enter loader mode
8. Open AndroidTool, click on “Upgrade Firmware” tab, click on Firmware button and select update.img extracted from Purist ROM then click Upgrade

Fidelizer - PerfectDynamics Sound Optimizations 3.0

It’s been a long while since last update of Fiio X series and I haven’t finished rolling PerfectDynamics 3.0 yet due to finalizing the improvements on legacy devices. There’s stability and sound signature to be addressed.

Finally I managed to replicate similar improvements on Oreo ROM with octa core. I tuned background tasks running on FIFO similar to R2R design and that can provide more linear sound and transparency with right tuning.

I also improved deodexing and re-basing ROM again from scratch to make sure it will be glitchless and updated Fiio Music with latest version V3.0.3 with new custom kernel from jkbuha. I’ll roll new updates for X7 and X7ii later soon.

Installation Guide

1. Download X5iii Firmware Upgrade Tool
2. Turn off Fiio X5iii
3. Connect X5iii with USB connection to computer while holding previous track button
4. Install RK USB driver included in Firmware Upgrade Tool and replace update.img image with Fidelizer Purist ROM version
5. Open X5III Firmware Upgrade Tool.exe and flash ROM according to instructions provided in Instructions of How to Use the X5 3rd gen Firwmare Upgrade Tool.pdf

I’ve been busy with hardware products for a while so it took some days to finish Purist ROM update for iBasso DX220Max update. Here it is and enjoy. 🙂
