Fidelizer - PerfectDynamics Sound Optimizations 2.0

I planned to port DX220 ROM for iBasso DX200 device before leaving to Japan but new firmware for iBasso DX220 is out today so I’ll release DX220 one first and port to other devices later after coming back from Japan. 🙂

 

-Based on iBasso DX220 firmware version V1.15.233
–Yalp Store is added as Play Store’s alternative (I still keep Google services for those who want to install Play Store through other means)
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included
-MangoPlayer app has optimizations applied
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-Audio engine optimized for only audio playback (EQ/Gaplass features work)

Installation Guide

1. Install Rockchip USB driver included in AndroidTool and make sure it shows ‘Found One ADB device’ in AndroidTool software
2. Extract Official Oreo ROM firmware from iBasso to device’s storage and flash from Settings > System > Updater > Local storage
3. After successfully flashing official ROM, go to Settings > System > About tablet and tap “Build number” for 7 times to enable “Developer options”
4. Tap back arrow to enter “Developer options”, enable “USB debugging”, and press OK
5. Connect DX220 to computer with USB connection in Android mode again and press OK to allow USB debugging
6. Download Disable Verity package and run disable_verity.bat file (You may need to authorize USB debugging and run disable verity again if not reboot)
7. After DX220 boots up properly with Verity disabled, turn off device and connect with USB connection to computer while holding play button
8. Open AndroidTool, click on “Upgrade Firmware” tab, click on Firmware button and select update.img extracted from Purist ROM then click Upgrade

 

If you like improvements in Purist ROM, you may upgrade to Enhanced / Advanced ROM for even better sound. Please read Portable Products for more details including iBasso DX220 Fidelizer Mod project with 3 modification levels and happy listening. 🙂

Here’s a new feedback today from a customer who ordered Nimitra and Nikola from Elite Audio distributor in UK. This is his impression after setting up system with Nimitra.

Hello Keetakawee,

I’ve now had the opportunity to listen to the Nimitra for several days and must say I’m very, very impressed. I tried it first as a direct replacement for my Mac Mini using it as a Roon Core with a Sonore microRendu as my endpoint connected to my Lampizator Atlantic Plus DAC. It was as you suggested a big upgrade. After listening for a day or so I did as you suggested and removed the microRendu driving the Lampizator directly from the Nimitra. This was another improvement, music becoming much richer but still with lots of details. Tone with classical music was much better, as were the dynamics, altogether more like live music. I’m very happy with my purchase.

I’m looking forward to hear his updates with direct connection to Lampizator DAC with next upgrade. Nimitra is also reviewed with Lampizator DAC in Positive Feedback’s review too. 🙂

Fidelizer Mod - Chord Hugo2

 

Here’s another feedback today. This time it’s from local client who applied Fidelizer Ultimate Mod for maximum performance.

Hugo2 sounds a lot better. After listening for a while, I noticed clarity and details improved significantly. Background is much more quiet with more micro details revealed. I’d say it sounds better around 40-50% for improvements.

Chord Hugo2 really took me a long while to come up with better performance deserving Ultimate Mod level. This unit is the second one with with Fidelizer Ultimate Mod applied. 🙂

Sorry for the delay with update. I had urgent wedding ceremony to attend around my hometown. Now new version DX200 1.09.097 update is here with latest optimizations and updates. I’ll update DX220 port soon with new updates. 🙂

Here’s a new feedback today. I received his feedback after product being well broken with NAS storage.

Now that the switch is pretty well broken in, the sound (and video) quality is significantly improved! I play my music off a NAS drive, and the sound quality improvement is easily as big an as I got from Marcin’s JCAT network card but the combination of both is even greater improvement!

I notice it mostly in the clarity and the tightness of the bass. My wife (who has superhuman hearing) said this is the biggest improvement she has heard to date. (and I am continuously tweaking things)
