Fidelizer’s false positive report case with Kaspersky

Today I received a few emails from Fidelizer users about getting report from Kaspersky. I’d like to inform everyone that Fidelizer is safe and secured audio software. It has features to control process’ priority and affity with services management features so some antivirus may detect such behavior being unsafe. However, there’s nothing to be afraid about the procedures as you can safely reverse it and Fidelizer hasn’t harmed anyone’s PC so far in last year.

You can keep using Fidelizer with Kaspersky by adding Fidelizer applications into Kaskersky’s exclusion list. I also filed false positive report to Kaspersky’s Virusdesk and I recommend you to do the same too to avoid such issue in future.

UPDATE: Kaspersky informed me they’ll fix this false detection in next update. 🙂

Windows X

Here’s a new feedback today. He also has a very good analog system for the best of both worlds.

Fidelizer 7 is fantastic. I have a very good analog system and have always tried to get my digital front-end to sound as good as my best lp’s. I am there now, 7 was the last missing piece.

I too am ‘pure analog’ vinyl lover so developing Fidelizer with good analog performance is one of my top priorities. 🙂

Why does external USB interface sounds better than internal USB interface?

Thinking logically, internal USB interface should have lesser chain of connection, shorter I2S connection to DAC without encapsulation on AES/SPDIF and stuff. My friend conduct some listening tests with Eximus DP1 and Stello U3. We found that using Stello U3 as external interface to AES/Coaxial input sounds better than internal USB interface. Both U3 and DP’s internal USB audio should have about the same quality. They even share the same driver and firmware.

After further tests with USB isolator and noise filter on tested computer machine, we found they minimized the difference between internal and external USB interfaces significantly. We could say that the reason why internal USB interface sounds worse is because DAC itself gets pollution from direct contact with computer audio source. By using external USB interface, DAC itself receives signal from encapsulated stream from USB interface box isolating pollution from USB connection.

However, it’s unavoidable for DSD to be played from direct USB connection. I think it’s important to reduce the pollution in computer audio source or suppress its effects with isolator or noise filter with optimal implementation.

Here’s another feedback today. This time it’s quite long with comprehensive comparison against OS X platform.

Dear Keetakawee Punpeng,

I did some listening yesterday after installing FPro. My aim has been to find a better alternative to Mac/audirvana which I have used for several years. The two things I like about Audirvana are playback from RAM and shutting down unnecessary processes to reduce jitter. My set up is fanless Asrock mini-ITX, linear PS, all int/ext cables and case shielded (near perfect Faraday), McIntosh MA6700, Thiel 2.3. Foobar 2000 set up for WASAPI event with optimized buffer settings as per FPro guide in Windows 10. Without FPro, Foobar2000 is darker with smoother high frequencies compared to Audirvana/mac mini, but with reduced soundstage and slightly less detail, but very nice to listen to. After installing FPro on the audio player setting, there is simply no comparison. More depth, deeper base, wider soundstage and more detail. For me this is sheer joy because my mac mini/audirvana is at last beaten. I congratulate you for this achievement because nothing else could do this as effectively as FPro on a PC. FPro produces an immediate and profound difference to the sound which goes (in my case) from very good to fabulous. If tests were performed, then I would anticipate FPro to drastically reduce jitter. I also realise that a lot of the reviews published on FPro are correct in their conclusions. I am rubbing my hands in anticipation because my next step is to set up JPLAY.

Thank you for taking good care of my request.
Best regards.

Glad to hear Fidelizer makes ‘no comparison’ improvements on his system. 🙂

Here’s a new feedback today. He uses Fidelizer on Intel i7 laptop with Melco N1A product. I wonder how Melco N1A works in his system.

Greetings from Singapore.

I have been listening for the day and I must say Fidelizer does what it professes. I installed it on my i7 Toshiba notebook running JRiver as a renderer and output via Ifi iUsb 3 to my Teac UD 503 DAC. My network server is the Melco N1A. Cleaner and more tactile bass on a quieter background.

Keep up the good work.

Another case of Fidelizer working great on high performance CPU.
