Fidelizer review on Quotidiano Audio

Quotidiano Audio is growing audiophile online media in Italy since 2012. This software review was written on 8th April 2016 but I discovered this review only recently so forgive me for not finding you sooner. This review is written in Italian so I’ll copy the translate core messages here.

Looking more specifically, Fidelizer Pro v7 reduces latency, improves the performance of the clock, optimizes MMCSS (Multimedia Class Scheduler Service), no island-sound processes on a single core, run the audio player software with the highest possible priority, optimizes the kernel timers and audio files priorities; Some of these performances are unique in their kind (= software competitors do not have all these features).

You can do all that manually intervening? Probably yes, but at costs of several sleepless nights and probably not with the same results.

And here’s the original message in Italian.

The reviewer Massimo Garofalo is also the founder of Quotidiano Audio and is quite knowledgeable about computer audio so I recommend to read full review for better understanding about computer audio.

Will DSD upsampling become a trend in 2016?

Since last year, Roon users start to adopt HQPlayer and use its powerful DSD upsampling algorithm. There’s also cheaper solutions from other software that offers DSD upsampling too so audiophiles can get the feel of what DSD is like if played from their favorite tracks.

In this year, some big companies are starting to adopt DSD upsampling into their flagship products too. The most recent I’ve heard is Emm Labs releasing DA2 with DSD1024 upsampling and Audirvana promises to bring DSD upsampling into next updates as well.

I also was a an upsampling lover and have a few runs with DSD upsampling from Esoteric and dCS gears. While I loved the smoothness of vinyl-like transients from upsampling, I also felt I missed something from originals at the same time too. That didn’t happen with original SACD playback though.

There used to be a fad about DSD upsampling in last decade. Will DSD upsaming become popular again in this year? Will it encourage producers to bring more DSD files into the market?

Here’s another feedback today. It’s always great to hear happy customer expressing his appreciation.

Egregious Windows X,

I’m testing my new Fidelizer Pro. The improvment is evident: more presence, more detail and (for me very important) increased softness of Highs. So my digital collection is even more appreciable.

Thanks

Fidelizer makes digital collection being more appreciable. It has a nice ring to me. 🙂

Fidelizer 7.2 released – Improved compatibility with Roon 1.2 Update and others

It’s been a month since releasing version 7.1 to public. I received some reports related to AirPlay stability issues so I did some investigation and found AirPlay is relying on Bonjour service. So, I added its process into audio category to fix this problem and hopefully it’ll work fine now.

Also, Roon 1.2 Update was released recently so I tested some new components and updated more Roon apps into audio category along with HQPlayer that is used by a few Roon users.

Added testimonial from Wayne

Here’s a new feedback today. At first he was reluctant because the price is a bit high for single PC license. And this is his feedback after the upgrade.

Hi,

Yes very nice/you have done good work,I have been making some optimizations manually before I found Fidelizer. This is much more effective and easier (Thank you).

Anyway I like it so I will buy one for my HTPC,I will do this tomorrow from that PC. Also I have a very High End PC I built myself, and I am able to use the Purist mode and still use the PC as usual /so I am very happy.

Thank you,
Wayne

Fidelizer is no doubt a great purchase seeing how effective it is from such small investment. 🙂
