Here’s another feedback today. This time it’s from Fidelizer Plus user sending his impressions to me.

Thank you very much. I will let you know after some serious listening. So far so good. I am impressed.

I’m happy to hear that Fidelizer Plus impressed him. 🙂

Nimitra Computer Audio Server and Nikola Linear Power Supply receives Positive Feedback Writers’ Choice 2017 Awards

Positive Feedback Writers' Choice Award 2017 for Fidelizer Nimitra Computer Audio Server and Nikola Linear Power Supply

This is our fifth award received in this year for Nimitra Computer Audio Server and also the second award for Nikola Linear Power Supply. It’s probably the last award Fidelizer might receive in this year but not least at all from non-profit media like Positive Feedback.

Nimitra and Nikola was nominated by Mr. Larry Cox who also nominated Fidelizer last year. It was around time I announced Nimitra, a turnkey solution that everyone can use with Teamviewer support and best Fidelizer optimizations. Here’s excerpt about Nimitra and Nikola he wrote.

As close to a plug and play computer audio server as you’re likely to find. Ease of setup is aided by a thirty day assist from Keetakawee Punpeng from Thailand using the remote access software Teamviewer. The selling point is that with Linn Kazoo or Mconnect Lite you have remote control of your files through the Nimitra. The sound is difficult to describe except to say it’s quieter, more linear and both less etched and less bloomy. Although others did not hear a difference with the accessory Nikola linear power supply I and my wife found the Nikola to add a bit of emotional content, in particular I believe the lower midrange is a bit sweeter, perhaps more relaxed when playing HQPlayer transcoded files. My wife literally cried hearing Eva Cassidy singing Fields of Gold.

This year is full of surprises and challenges for my audiophile journey. Big thanks to Mr. Larry Cox for his support. I’m really appreciated it. You can read full article about Positive Feedback Writers’ Choice 2017 Awards and see other cool products too.

And don’t forget to check his Nimitra and Nikola review featuring HQPlayer software with DSD upsampling too. 🙂

Added testimonial from Kevin

Here’s a new feedback today. I feel like it’s been a long while after busying myself with Purist ROM updates.

Thanks Keetakawee,

When I was thinking the sound could not get any better, it just did.
Many thanks.

Regards
Kevin

I’m glad to hear sound quality gets better in his system once again. Happy listening. 🙂

Fiio X5iii Purist ROM version 1.1.9 released!

Fidelizer Mod

For new users, please read about PerfectDynamics Sound Optimizations first for new improvements with Fidelizer ROMs.

I received notification about Fiio X5iii 1.1.9 ROM update on the day it was released and I started working on it immediately. It took me few days to launch this update because of new feature Balanced Turbo for High Gain that requires further tests with hardware modded device.

After testing Purist ROMs for version 1.1.9, all ROMs passed the test including units with Fidelizer Mod applied. Balanced Turbo feature works wonderfully with new opamps set I implemented and I highly recommend to use with high gain headphones.

-Based on firmware version 1.1.9
-Deodexed
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-bundled audio effects removed but keep main engine (Poweramp works now)

Fidelizer Mod accepts modding your unit now!

Chord Mojo - Fidelizer Signature Mod

Back then we used to have screen issues with early DX200 units which can be a complicated case to handle with Fidelizer Mod. I resolved this case by offering Fidelizer Mod with a new unit to minimize the risks of getting defective screen while applying Fidelizer Mod to DX200.

Since DX200 has defective touch screen issue resolved and most units got their screen fixed, I’m ready to officially accept products from customers to apply Fidelizer Mod. You can order Fidelizer Mod product from website and I’ll send shipping information after receiving your order.

Aside from Fiio X5iii, iBasso DX200 and Chord Mojo, I also modify all other units. Here’s what I’ve done and going to do since last two months.

Emm Labs DCC2 SE
Oppo UDP-203
Oppo UDP-205
DX90
DX100
DX200
Fiio X5iii
Opus #2
AK120mk2
AK120ii
AK240
AK380
AK380Cu
Cowon Plenue 1
Chord Mojo
Chord Hugo
Chord Poly
Lawtoo Paw Gold
HM802
HM901
HM901S
Onkyo DP-X1A
iPod Classic

I also heard from clients about DAP getting a shorter life-cycle so it might be better idea to switch to a new DAP rather than modding. I’ve been on this journey since early days of iPod and iRiver (which became Astell & Kern) so I’d like to share some thoughts based on my experience.

Fidelizer Mod - Emm Labs

Getting a new DAP doesn’t mean it’ll always improve sound quality. Sometimes it’s more like getting a different flavor with different DAC chip or parts that cost about the same. You’ll see some audiophiles preferring older models from time to time.

You can upgrade your DAP with good reasons such as it has new features that benefits you like adding balanced headphone, full Android platform with streaming support, design looks cool and you like it. Go ahead. Take it and enjoy it. No harm no foul to buy what we like.

However, selling and buying a new ones will probably cost you over $100 up to $300 per upgrade. Using that budget to modify your product for real improvements might not sound bad for some devices like Fiio X5iii and iBasso DX200.  They’re decent models packed with lots of features and can be improved a lot with Fidelizer Mod. 🙂
