Fiio X7ii Purist ROM version 1.0.7 JP released

Last week I received news about Fiio releasing ROM X7ii version 1.0.7 for Japan region. This version isn’t available in official website. After I finish with Fidelizer 8.2 release, I immediately started working on this update and now it’s ready.

 

-Based on firmware version 1.0.7 JP
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-bundled audio effects removed but keep main engine (Poweramp works now)

Installation Guide

1. Download X7ii Firmware Upgrade Tool
2. Turn off Fiio X7ii
3. Connect X7ii with USB connection to computer while holding previous track button
4. Install RK USB driver included in Firmware Upgrade Tool and replace update.img image with Fidelizer Purist ROM version
5. Open X7II(Chinese text).exe and press the green button in middle right flash the ROM

Fidelizer 8.2 released – Introducing multiple media player applications and resolve adding new network card

I promised before to release upcoming version with multiple media player application feature making setup like Roon/HQPlayer becoming much easier to implement. Now it’s finally here.

It took me a long while to implement this feature due to designing user experience and fixing glitches in UI changes. I need to make a lot of changes to make things work as designed.

Also, I received more requests about fidelizer.key being changed after installing new JCAT NET Card Femto. I made some adjustments to fidelizer.key generation so it won’t change the key after adding new card.

It took a while to properly resolving the case of changes in hardware key generation and I needed to fix 8.2 release and send again so I can officially release it today after confirming. This is the first release with multiple media player applications support and I’ll polish this feature better in future.

Fiio X5iii/X7/X7ii gets Fiio Market back in Enhanced/Advanced ROM

While debloating non-audio apps in Fiio ROM, I removed app name PermissionApp which sounds like permission related stuff. Actually, it’s Fiio Market app and some clients requested to put it back on their ROMs.

After checking on Fiio Market’s file, it’s actually a web stub app with very small size so it shouldn’t affect audio performance significantly. As a result, I decided to put Fiio Market app back on Enhanced/Advanced ROM.

Most people probably use Play Store app by now after Fiio releasing updates with Play Store integration. But if you need to have Fiio Market for some reason like getting some specific version of certain apps, you can request Fiio Market ROM version. 🙂

Here’s a new feedback today. It’s quite feedback I have in store since Fidelizer 8.0 release with AlbumPlayer app.

Fidelizer 8.0 is wonderful! The new interface is brilliant and the configuration is very simple. Further, as a passionate JPLAY user the Processor priority setting for JPLAY is greatly appreciated. Though each of these settings has a very obvious impact on audio quality!

I’m using the wonderful sounding Album Player Mini with full file buffering enabled, 0.5 sec period timer, ASIO output, to JPLAY (KS output, ULTRAStream, Throttling: OFF, Hibernate: OFF) and Fidelizer 8.0 has proved more stable with this audio player on a Win10 system.

Please try the audio player as it’s free to use and provides superior sound to Hysolid, JRiver, Foobar2k and numerous others that I have tried. Albums are selected from within the program by right clicking on the drop down bar to set a target folder. It helps if all the files within the folder are of the same sampling rate and bit depth.

AlbumPlayer is a good app with low-level hardware buffer controller on ASIO output. Highly recommended for serious audiophiles with Fidelizer Pro. 🙂
