Fidelizer - PerfectDynamics Sound Optimizations 2.0

I’m finally back from visiting parents during new year now so the first I did after arriving here is working on iBasso DX220 Purist ROM update. Here’s version 1.16.242 update for iBasso DX220 and I’ll update others with port soon. 🙂

-Based on iBasso DX220 firmware version V1.16.242
–Yalp Store is added as Play Store’s alternative (I still keep Google services for those who want to install Play Store through other means)
-Apollo – Fidelity Edition from https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/apollo-music-player-fidelity-edition-t3038629 included
-MangoPlayer app has optimizations applied
-build.prop tweaks for better video and storage performance and improve battery life
-Audio engine optimized for only audio playback (EQ/Gaplass features work)

Installation Guide

1. Install Rockchip USB driver included in AndroidTool and make sure it shows ‘Found One ADB device’ in AndroidTool software
2. Extract Official Oreo ROM firmware from iBasso to device’s storage and flash from Settings > System > Updater > Local storage
3. After successfully flashing official ROM, go to Settings > System > About tablet and tap “Build number” for 7 times to enable “Developer options”
4. Tap back arrow to enter “Developer options”, enable “USB debugging”, and press OK
5. Connect DX220 to computer with USB connection in Android mode again and press OK to allow USB debugging
6. Download Disable Verity package and run disable_verity.bat file (You may need to authorize USB debugging and run disable verity again if not reboot)
7. After DX220 boots up properly with Verity disabled, turn off device and connect with USB connection to computer while holding play button
8. Open AndroidTool, click on “Upgrade Firmware” tab, click on Firmware button and select update.img extracted from Purist ROM then click Upgrade

EtherStream Network Switch review on 6moons by Srajan Ebaen

Here’s another review EtherStream Network Switch published in 6moons website by Srajan Ebaen himself. This is Fidelizer’s first review from Mr. Srajan Ebaen too so it’ll be a good reference for him to see Fidelizer products in action.

He tested EtherStream in a few setups he can utilize with from dedicated server with USB Reclocker to standard iMac setup. It seems USB Reclocker will make changes in network becoming harder to notice so I’ll share his feedback from conventional parts as below.

I of course haven’t the foggiest whether what I now heard mirrored in scale and importance what Michael had heard. It simply seemed to track in kind. Soundstage cues on depth of field for more specific layer assignation refined. Leading edges had slightly better definition. As always, those aspects caused gains in perceived focus and articulation. With them, separation bettered. Things remained more discrete and individuated rather than blended or blurred into each other when mixes grew thick with interlocking lines. None of it related to frequency response, tonal balance or any expansion/shrinkage of the virtual stage. Rather, it revolved on timing. Tunes felt just a tad snappier to be rhythmically more assured. One might say that in the domain of beats and grooves, the contrast ratio improved. Put casually, think of various time keepers more fully awake. Musicians call it playing in the pocket. Here the Fidelizer worked like a pocket protector.

There’s time I was into USB Reclocker which can be effective anti-jitter solution for some cases so it’s good to have diversity cases like this one. It’d be nice to see review with masterclock + 10M Rubidium clock some days too. You can read his full review for details.

Here’s another feedback today. He’s been using Fidelizer Plus first and upgraded to Pro version later.

I have been testing Fidelizer for months and I can assure you that the PC with Fidelizer plays music like a very expensive CD player even with non-audiophile files like Spotify’s, therefore, you could offer Spotify to pair it with Fidelizer. If it’s done and it’s okay, please don’t forget me.
